Coat Type: Silky, feathered coat that is medium in length with longer feathering on the ears, chest, belly, and legs. Requires regular brushing to prevent mats and tangles.

Coat Colors: Black, Golden, Liver, and various parti-colors or tri-colors. Show lines often have especially lush coats, while working lines may be slightly more practical in length.

Temperament: Warm, affectionate, and cheerful. Cocker Spaniels usually love being around people and often follow their family from room to room. They are gentle dogs with a playful side, and they tend to do best when they feel included in everyday life. With kind, consistent training and good socialization, they grow into friendly companions that are happy at home, on walks, or playing in the yard.
